Zoe

A portrait of a teenage big wave surf phenom, who's pooled an eclectic community of mentors to guide her while she learns the ropes of failure, fear, and self-determination.

Gaby Scott is a San Francisco based filmmaker and editor. Originally from the Boston area, she obtained her Master’s degree in Visual and Critical Studies from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Scott then moved to San Francisco and is currently a freelance film director and editor.

Scott’s graduate study focus on molecular gastronomy, affect theory, and nostalgia, and her curiosity for the hidden quotidian led her to create, direct and edit the award-winning short film, 'Angela Wilson, a butcher's story'.

Her focus is on the non-linear – the cyclical interactions people have with their shifting landscapes and the philosophies that drive them.
