Short film: Woman in the mirror

1905 in Paris. A foreign woman who hits rock bottom, stands up again and risks it all. She calls herself Mata Hari, an Indian princess, dances scandalously and earns 10,000 francs per night - at a time when women did not even have the right to own a bank account. But she will have to make a tough decision and pay a high price for her freedom.




Karoline is a film director & editor based in Leipzig, Germany. She has studied and worked in Philadelphia, New York, Paris, Toulouse, Prague and Berlin. She speaks fluent German, English and French. She is originally from Jena, Germany.

The crew & cast consist of more than 80% of female members.



She graduated with honors from Mount Holyoke College (MA, USA) in 2012 and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theatre Arts and French. Karoline graduated from Prague Film School in 2015 with a specialization in directing and editing. Her diploma film Big City Fever was selected and awarded in numerous festivals in the US and around the world.


As a director, Karoline's recent works include the narrative short film Woman in the Mirror and the short documentary The Sound of Violet. She edited the award winning documentary When Paul Came Over the Sea by Jakob Preuss.
