The New Mother is a 12 minute short experimental drama which explores the delicate paradigm shift between an aging mother and her adult daughter who becomes her caregiver... We explore the stages of grief/acceptance/understanding/and new beginnings in this suspenseful psychological silent film.
"The New Mother" is Eleva Singleton's third short film since her Midwest Emmy nominated film" SHINEMEN ", and "Conversations".
Eleva honed her film craft working in Hollywood on several films such as "What's Love Got to Do With It", "Sister Act 2 Back in the Habit", " Boys on the Side", and' Deep Cover". Eleva attended the University of Illinois, Columbia College, The William Esper School in N.Y, and most recently completed the DVID Fellowship Program with Kartemquin Productions.
"The New Mother" is an award winning experimental film of Chicago Women Film Festiva.
