Trashy

Sexually repressed and under militant supervision, fourteen-year-old Naomi risks everything to spend an adult-free night out with her estranged cousin. Innocent curiosities quickly lead to a night of debauchery, violence, and a family destroyed in a sleepy Ohio factory town.



Alyssa Lee Standen is an American director based in Cleveland, OH. She did internship work through the feature-film program at KSU and was the President of their student production company. After graduation she worked in the production office for films like Queen + Slim, White Noise, Shooting Stars, and Blade.


Her senior project film Forgive Me (2019) won several awards at festivals across the country including a BEA Award of Excellence, Best Ohio Film nomination at Nightmare Film Fest, and a distribution deal with horror news site Bloody Disgusting as part of their World of Death: Bloody Bites short film program. In her films, Alyssa works through personal struggles with drama, horror, and experimental storytelling. She is currently developing both a body horror feature and drama feature Hicktown Paradise, which Trashy is based off of.

Her creative vision is a reflection of her own inner turmoil, channeled through the lens of drama, horror, and experimental narrative techniques.

With a background in film production and a keen eye for detail, Alyssa Lee Standen brings a fresh perspective to the world of independent cinema. Her dedication to exploring the darker aspects of the human psyche sets her apart as a filmmaker unafraid to tackle challenging themes and push boundaries.
